Toyota and Subaru to Team Up on an Upcoming Sports Car
Toyota recently announced its intention to increase its share in Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru) from 8.7% to 16.5%. This investment, estimated to cost the number one car manufacturer on the planet an impressive 31 billion Yen (306 million dollars), should increase the competitiveness of both companies. It includes a collaboration on the production of a new sports car, as well as a compact model provided by Toyota to Subaru.
This new sports car may very well be Toyota's FT-HS concept that we've already covered here a couple times at NihonCar. Right now it's impossible to guess the specifications of this vehicle, but a rear wheel drive or all wheel drive drive train combined with a hybrid motor would make sense.
Wait and see!
