Sunday Stories: Nissan Concept-Car Shiraz

Nissan Concept-Car Shiraz

Nissan's future lies in the hands of its designers and the spaniard Miguel Ángel Iranzo Sánchez recently came up with a mix of what the Japanese manufacturer does best: 4x4 and sportscars!
This car, or concept-car, is known as the Shiraz and Nissan says it could quickly become a reality (within 5 years) if there is any demand.

The Shiraz uses a lot of existing technology, the chassis and engine come from the Nissan Qashqai but the 2 liter diesel engine has been tweaked and its 150hp are now combined to a 40kW electric motor thanks to Nissan's very own SuperMotor technolgy.

The dimensions and look of the Shiraz set it apart from any car we can see on the roads nowadays but this "SUV-Crossover-Coupe" idea seems to represent the future and other car makers have had their go at such designs. The real question is: when will the market be ready for those cars?
