Phone Evolution

The first comercial mobile phone in the history of Telecommunications was Motorola DynaTAC 8000X, launched in 1983. Although since 1973 several handheld prototypes made phone calls during ten years, this device was the first product accepted as Celular phone.

Motorola DynaTAC 8000X weighed 28 ounces and was 10 inches high and included tipycal keypad with 12 keys and another special keypad with 9 keys: Rcl (Recall), Clr (Clear), Snd (Send), Sto (Store), Fcn (Function), End (End), Pwr (Power), Lock (Lock) and Vol (Volume).

The screen in Motorola DynaTAC 8000X was built as a red LEDs display with limited capacity to show information. This mobile phone was a revolution wich could be carried in a car or by the user. Oh! and the price in 1983 was $3,995.
